MAKOFESZ
The Association of Hungarian Choir Competitions and Festival was founded in 1999 with the purpose to represent the interests of choirs and choral events in Hungary.
It was founded by the Béla Bartók International Choir Competitions, Debrecen, Interkultur Hungaria Kht, as organiser of the Budapest International Choir Competitions and KÓTA – Hungarian Choir and Orchestras Association as organiser of the Zoltán Kodály National Choir Competition.

The chief objective of the organisation is to coordinate competitions and festival organised by the members, to ensure the flow of information among the members, the representation of their interests in Hungary, to help the national and international publicity of the events, their representation at various international professional forums and to foster the international relations of the Hungarian choral movement.
It was founded by the Béla Bartók International Choir Competitions, Debrecen, Interkultur Hungaria Kht, as organiser of the Budapest International Choir Competitions and KÓTA – Hungarian Choir and Orchestras Association as organiser of the Zoltán Kodály National Choir Competition.
